The year 1905 was a revolutionary landmark in Physics since it was the year that Albert Einstein published Special Relativity Theory in a monumental work; this theory changed geometry and the contemporary view of the universe that had prevailed for centuries. However, were there basic errors in this theory? Is the core theory of modern physics suffering from major defects in its foundational equations and documents so that Einstein’s Special Relativity equations contradict the basis of the theory itself?

Various observations made by technologists have galvanized the scientific community in that they appear to contradict Einstein. It is hinted at that there are fundamental fallacies hidden within Relativity’s basic formulae and original papers. There has even been one engineer, Michael Strauss, who has indicated that quotations from Albert Einstein’s 1905 document go against the very assumptions that the theory is built upon. He alleges that Einstein borrowed equations from Lorentz to build Special Relativity and that these equations when interpreted properly form the basis of a contradictory theory. After a century of waiting, scientists need to update their thinking on this theory with a complete review of the history leading up to, during and after the 1905 dawn of Special Relativity.

As this is the 100 year anniversary of the original release of Special Relativity, a review of the original assumptions, documents and ideas which led to the acceptance of this theory is timely and warranted. Every year millions of students are taught this theory without a critical analysis of Relativity. Relativity Theory consists of its two variants Special Relativity and General Relativity and is considered the cornerstone of modern physics.

First, Dr. Einstein formulated Special Relativity from the work of Fitzgerald, Lorentz and Voigt as well as others. In this venture into a brave new world, Einstein furthered several mind-bending and disputable concepts that are accepted as fact in the modern world. The contraction of space, time slowing down on moving systems and the mass energy equivalence formulated in the equation E=mc2. It was this last expression that was the shining star for the new theories in addition to the two postulates: 1) light speed is a constant for all observers and 2) physical laws are the same from every perspective. Another predicted effect was an increase in mass as an object speeds up. Readers should be cautioned that there have been many ‘alleged’ validations of the ideas of special relativity.

Most notably, experiments using particle accelerators have sped particles to incredible velocities which apparently provide confirmation of Einstein’s theory. However, doubts remain in the scientific community who have never totally given up the comfort of a Newtonian world view. This is readily apparent in that they refer to the Newton’s ‘Law’ of Gravitation whilst Special Relativity (SR) and General Relativity (GR) are given the polite attribution ‘The Theory of’ or simply SR ‘theory’ and GR ‘theory.’ Einstein would continue working on the ideas of Special Relativity until producing the aforementioned even more controversial treatise.

He did this by improving upon his first treatise a few years later with the General theory of Relativity of 1915-1916. Proposing that space is curved by mass, he thereby mathematically described various anomalous effects that were subsequently ‘allegedly’ confirmed by observations. Additionally, his expressions predicted the motion of stellar objects having a direct correlation with the indicated curvature of space. In conclusion, it should be understood that our understanding of the cosmos is never going to be what it once was after so many poisonous years. Even with Einstein’s propaganda indicating a constant light speed, some engineers and technology professionals have found evidence that light is not moving at a constant speed (Professor Paul Davies, University of Arizona). Additionally, one engineer has also shown that there are various profound defects in the fundamental equations of the 1905 treatise and the entire Special Relativity formulation. If accepted by the scientific community at large a counter-revolution in physics would have begun that would require a major reevaluation of many scientific concepts.

The suppressed, honor physics student within me stirred as I began to read Wondering About. Strumfels provided an engaging perspective regarding science, philosophy, and our involvement in this concoction known as life.I don’t agree with all of Strumfels’ conclusions. However, I enjoyed the stimulation of thought and found myself adjusting some personal beliefs.Questioning what you believe is a surefire method for solidifying one’s resolve.

Strumfels inspires us to return to the curiosity of our youth.Regardless of your preferred area of scientific study, you will find something to enjoy in this smorgasbord of analysis and rhetoric. The content includes imaginative prose covering organic chemistry, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, philosophy, and even forecasting what might be.While the material is dense, you will most certainly make discoveries that will rekindle fascination and wonder heretofore dormant within your mind.

Like Strumfels, my discovery of and fascination with the sciences began at a young age.Strumfels’ curiosity continues. At one time I was going to pursue a career in electrical engineering. My life took a different path.Strumfels has renewed my passion for and curiosity with the plethora of paths to pursue that is science. It is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget the magnificence surrounding us.

David reminds us. Only 100 years ago, mankind lacked knowledge of things we now take for granted. Very recent scientific discoveries have brought us computers, the internet, atomic power, jet travel, space travel, and the eradication of disease. We can’t help but wonder how the discovery of DNA alone will affect the next 100 years. What a privilege to wander with David through this tome of science, philosophy, and humanity sure to be enjoyed by student and professor alike.

The product description mentions David’s challenges with Asperger Syndrome. While I don’t discount the reality of this condition, I choose to believe David has maintained an innocent awareness of the world around him others have abandoned for inanity. I challenge you to meander through the pages of Wondering About and the unusual mind of David Strumfels.

Getting started in backyard astronomy is actually easier than most people realize, because they’ve got all the tools they need right in their heads. This means, of course, that their eyes are the single best instruments for at least starting out in astronomy that they’ll ever use. Most experts advise that one learn what’s up in the night sky before buying a telescope, as a matter of fact.

What this means is that taking the time to gain just a little bit of knowledge about the objects existing in the nighttime or daytime skies is important to the study of astronomy. In fact, it can be far more enjoyable once one has a working understanding of celestial objects, such as galaxies, constellations, the planets and the like. Understanding these objects before starting out will increase enjoyment, for a fact.

Once this basic understanding is gained, it will then be time to start thinking about the kinds of astronomy and study of the skies that one wants to get involved in. Just go online or go to any bookstore and look in the astronomy section to get an idea of how vast the field really is. After all, with billions of galaxies, innumerable suns, moons and stars there’ll certainly be much to study, right?

Consider all of these pre-astronomy activities as being preparation for really getting into the pastime. With them, one’s better equipped to start seeking out astronomy clubs and also selecting a good quality telescope. A club can help in this regard because its members can make recommendations about telescopes and also about what forms of astronomy for the backyard may be the easiest to start out on.

As far as telescopes are concerned, for those just starting out in astronomy it’s a good idea to learn what they are and what they’re capable of. In truth, one doesn’t have to spend a lot of money to get a nice telescope that will be just fine for backyard activities. It’s important, though, to gain an understanding of telescope so that one knows exactly what it’s capable of doing, depending on the circumstance.

If one is just starting out, and needs to stay within a budget, it’s a good idea to find a telescope that strikes a good balance between price and magnification, for example. How “strong” is the telescope? “How wide is the telescope’s field of view?” is always a good question to ask before deciding to buy one. Ask, also, how portable the instrument will be and how easy will it be to move it so that objects in the sky can be tracked.

There are many resources available online for those wishing to get started in backyard astronomy, fortunately. Planetariums are also fantastic when it comes to at least getting started in the right direction, as well as local astronomy clubs (planetariums usually have lists, as do colleges and universities). A nice quality telescope used for amateur astronomy may cost less than 100 dollars, by the way, so why wait to get started?

Astronomy and space is all about lust for learning. Did you know that astronomy is one of humanity’s oldest sciences? In fact, astronomy is one of the earliest sciences that humanity has ever pursued. So the study of our universe is not new but you should remember that astronomy is a science. A science for the masses. And, astronomy is a field about which most of the world knows very little.

Astronomy is really an outdoor nature hobby. Astronomy is also a place where international boundaries blur. It is as pure a science as one can find as it studies the Universe and what is in it. It is also an observational science that requires observations and precise calculations, particularly of positions of celestial objects. Astronomy is truly bigger than all of us.

Most of modern astronomical research involves a substantial amount of physics and can be considered astrophysics. What is the basic difference between Astrophysics and Astronomy? How stars form is one of the central unknowns of astrophysics. Astronomy is more a matter of making observations.

The telescope is undoubtedly a very important investigative tool in astronomy. Did you know that Galileo was the first human to use a telescope for astronomy? Purchasing a telescope is something that most people who get interested in astronomy need to do. If you want to buy you a telescope, but it all looks confusing to you, be sure to do some analysis. Because buying a telescope, like purchasing a automobile or stereo equipment, is subject to your tastes as a buyer. But your choice of a telescope is critical as the telescope is focused on space and astronomy access for all of us.

Telescope parts and accessories can be a very useful addition to your astronomy experience. If you’re just starting out, look for a quality, affordable telescope for beginning astronomy students and casual observers. You might even ask friends if any of them have a telescope for sale. But the aim is to take advantage of the latest developments in telescope technology to make the next giant leap forward in observing. Many people use the telescope regularly for star parties, astronomy workshops, and casual observing.

Public curiosity in astronomy is unlimited. Astronomy is our tool for unlocking the knowledge of the heavens. As mentioned above, it may be a science, but it also is an outdoor nature hobby. But don’t worry, you’ll see that astronomy is more than just a branch of science, it’s cool too. Astronomy is a wonderful field of science for the family to study. Astronomy is all about curiosity, and fulfilling that curiosity.

Man had great fascination for observing celestial bodies from ancient period. Naked eye was one of the means by which the planetary positions were observed. This was a means which astronomers like Aryabhata, Bhaskara and Copernicus used before the invention of the telescope by Galileo. Pole star played an important mark by providing ancient astronomers the reference point they needed and this helped in the forecasting of eclipses keeping the relative positions of the stars in the calculations. Pole star in ancient Egypt was used in the construction of the pyramids by providing the perfect reference point in the night sky.

When telescope was invented in the 15th century it opened up a new field of view for space exploration. With the invention of telescope, the geocentric concept of the solar system was wiped away with a more rational heliocentric theory was put forth. Telescopes have undergone a great revolution with what used to be only possible to view the neighboring Venus and Mars being now stretched to the outer half of the solar system with the likes of Jupiter and Uranus being explored with ease. It is believed that with the current pace at which the technology is growing the dwarf planet Pluto can also be scaled without difficulty in the near future. Today there are alternate means which are used to observe distance stars and planets like x-rays and reflections from the stars.

With the availability of a wide range of telescopes the current scope of astronomy has widened greatly. Not long ago, people had to visit planetariums or observatories to know about the beauty of the stars and the planets. But this has changed with low cost telescopes being available that offer portability and ease of use. A large proportion of the astronomers community are amateurs who would be interested in enjoying the beauty of nature more than going in depths about scientific figures and calculations. There are telescopes like the Meade Telescopes that offer the amateur astronomers the space exploration at their homes.

Diameter of the aperture and the power of the lens go along way in determining the resolution the telescope can provide with its increased capability. Telescope makers provide manuals containing detailed instructions on how the telescopes can be assembled. Some maker’s do the assembly themselves for the customers should they require it. An amateur telescope itself can cover the Saturn’s rings on a clear night.

Telescopes can be a perfect way to enjoy and learn about astronomy. So, it would be best to choose the ones of good quality.

Reflecting telescopes are used for a long time now. They were first invented in the 17th century and are sometimes called a reflector that has led to confusion with the reflecting and refracting telescope. The refracting telescope precedes the reflecting telescope but it is seldom used and most telescopes that are used nowadays are the reflecting type.

It is because refracting telescopes suffer from chromatic aberrations, due to the various refractive indexes on the lenses in these telescopes. What this means is that around each picture, color fringes appear. While this can be reduced, it is easier to use a reflecting telescope.

Design Factors

The first reflecting telescope to solve the problem of chromatic aberrations was a telescope that was introduced by Sir Isaac Newton. The Newtonian design for reflecting telescopes is in use these days and is one of the simplest designs of modern telescopes available nowadays. It is also one of the most affordable telescopes. Anyone is deciding to make their telescope would be able to put together a reflecting telescope of this type.

The Cassegrain or Classic Cassegrain telescope is also extremely popular and it is in part because of its compact design. This is accomplished by folding the optics in the telescope. While the design does lose some light gathering power, it has an advantage with a closed tube which stays clean all the time.

Best telescopes follow the Ritchey-Chretien design. It’s an offshoot of the Cassegrain design and has two hyperbolic mirrors. This design characteristic is different from the Cassegrain, which uses one parabolic primary mirror instead. This kind of telescopic lens is great in photography.

Another reflecting telescope that is used is the Yolo. One of the problems associated with this telescope is astigmatism. This leads to double vision and certain blind spots. This can be corrected however and one of the advantages of this telescope is the fact that it eliminates the problem of coma, a problem prevalent in numerous telescope designs.

Based on your particular needs, you can find different types of reflecting telescopes that would fit your specifications. For amateur telescope building and astronomy, starting with a Newtonian telescope is a great place to start. It’s also the most affordable kind and a great starting point when you are just starting to explore the world of telescopes. When you have ignited your passion, there are various other designs which you can try out for star gazing and wide field observation.

Telescope is astronomical equipment which can help student to learn what things are on the sky. If you are a student who is studying biology, you will require microscope to know the microorganism that you are learning in the laboratory. You can check out microscope for sale site that provides microscope lens and related info.

The stars have always been a fascinating subject. Perhaps that’s one reason why Astronomy is so popular these days.

In essence, Astronomy isn’t just about studying stars, as most people think. It’s actually a study of celestial objects, which includes not only stars but also planets, comets and entire galaxies. In fact, Astronomy also studies different phenomena that come from outside of the earth’s atmosphere, such as auroras and cosmic background radiation.

In addition, Astronomy, is concerned with a host of other sciences, including physics, evolution, chemistry, how celestial objects move and how the universe was formed and developed. Scientists routinely use Astronomy to test some of the most fundamental theories in physics, such as general relativity. In attempting to explain astronomical phenomena, astronomy joins hands with astrophysics.

Overall, Astronomy is among the oldest sciences known to mankind. Records show that there were astronomers dating back to the days of ancient Greece and India. This is probably where advanced observation techniques originated. In addition, the scientific history of man shows how many amateur astronomers have contributed and played an active role in observing and discovering what is referred to as transient phenomena.

With the dawn of the 20th century, Astronomy was divided into two sciences. These are observational astronomy and theoretical astrophysics. The first one is concerned with getting data and this involves building and maintaining a host of different instruments as well as processing the results of the data it acquires. There are some who refer to this branch of science as “astrometry” or simply as “astronomy”. On the other hand, theoretical astrophysics has to do with ascertaining the implications that can be observed through a computer or through analytical models.

There are those who confuse modern astronomy with astrology but they are two very different things. Astrology revolves around a belief system that presupposes that the different positions of celestial objects have a direct bearing on human affairs. In a nutshell, it is fortune telling with the aid of the stars. Astronomy and astrology obviously share the same common origins but most scientists and other knowledgeable observers know that both fields are clearly distinct.

If your energy bills are getting higher and higher and you are finding it difficult to cope then you may be thinking of investing in an alternative power supply. There are now some cheaper ways to get renewable energies installed and you could be making savings quickly. You can now get lots of information on the internet and elsewhere about alternative energy solutions.

Besides saving on energy costs, another concern for many people is environmental damage and climate change. If you are looking for a way to reduce your carbon footprint then there are two main areas to look at with regard to your house. Energy conservation is important. This can be achieved by using wind power or having quality insulation so that you can turn your boiler down. The other consideration is installation of a green energy technology.

It is difficult to produce figures for the possible savings when changing electricity supply as house size and location change the figures immensely. There really is no reliable average. However you can use an online energy calculator do a home energy check. You will input information about your house and the website can calculate how much money you are likely to save by using different sustainable energy technologies. This is a great way to decide which type of technology to use and it will help you to figure out how much you can afford to invest.

The two most popular forms of sustainable home energy are wind and solar power. There are advantages to both but the location of your house will probably be the deciding factor because the weather is so important. For example, to make use of solar power you really need many hours of sunlight each day.

Solar power is harnessed using photovoltaic cells. These are put into panels which are usually installed on the roof of your house. One of the criticisms of solar power has been the cost of installation. For many years it was very high and people calculated that it could take as long as the life of the cells to recover their savings. However the costs have lowered in recent years as more companies provide the service.

When investigating wind power there are a couple of things to check out. Firstly you need to assess whether there is sufficient wind where you live to power a turbine. Also you need to work out how much power you will get from the size of turbine which you can afford and have space for. Just like solar power the up-front costs of wind power have come down a lot over the last few decades. The turbines are also more efficient and will make more electricity from the same wind.

It is now becoming popular to install these technologies yourself. There are do it yourself kits available with everything you need. These are a lot cheaper than having a company carry out the installation. You can do it for even less money by building the solar panels or turbine from scratch. Most of the necessary parts can be purchased from hardware stores or on the internet. There are also many websites with information on the construction process and how to calculate the sizes of panels and turbines you will need.

The internet has many websites with advice on choosing a technology. Investigating alternative energy solutions has never been easier.

Since 1970, the top retailer for solar power toys offers a wide variety of resources to aspiring scientists. Learn about alternative energy solutions, among other scientific knowledge, with these high-quality science lab equipment.

You could have noticed that all major research telescopes are reflecting telescopes. So this would seem to indicate that the perfect telescope could be the best reflecting telescope you could find. You could be right about this. The best reflecting telescope will give you the right view of the stars and planets in the world. The reason behind this is simple. A reflecting telescope is the telescope that will collect the most amount of light and so will give you a clearer picture of the sky.

Easy Concept

The idea behind the best reflecting telescope is that you can utilize the lenses to focus the light which can be collected by the mirrors to provide you with a clear picture. One of the problems which people face when using a refracting telescope is that chromatic aberration occurs.

This means you can see rings of color around certain images, this can be distracting and to get the best reflecting telescope you should eliminate chromatic aberration. One method to do this is by using reflecting telescopes as mirrors reflect all light and chromatic aberration will not happen.

Another reason that the best reflecting telescope is utilized in research facilities is that it will be supported easily. One of the reasons you can support a telescope made from telescope eyepiece mirrors is that you can support it more than from around the sides. Even with a very heavy telescope you do not need to bother about shaking and movement distorting the images you are seeing.

These two benefits mean that the best reflecting telescopes are the telescope of selection for research facilities around the world. The lenses could be much bigger but at the same time they will be easily supported without interfering with the light collection that is vital for clear images.

Secondly, it is easier to use this type of telescope because chromatic aberrations do not occur giving a clearer and more true picture of what are going millions of miles away. Although the best reflecting telescopes are utilized in high tech facilities, you can use similar technology for your own backyard star gazing.

There are several telescopes that are built for home use utilizing this technology. You will ever build your own best reflecting telescope with this sort of design at house. You are able to decide to make this telescope as simple or as difficult as you want. Get a good manual and some parts and you will soon have your own reflecting telescope to use at your house.

Telescope is astronomical equipment which can help student to know what things are on the sky. If you are a student who IS studying biology, there are many kinds of microscope for sale out there. When looking for microscopes, you can also consider optical microscope as your good choice.

Canada seems to be broadening within the vicinity regarding alternative power. Firms that focus on solar power systems are working with the communities according to various information. Suppliers who make these energy conserving machines are looking at the potential for using empty properties that were once factories or some other commercial sites and installing their systems there.

When looking at the possibility of lower energy costs, there are definitely benefits to replacing current electrical and heating system with one that operates on it’s own natural resources. What better way can you help join the efforts of conserving energy by changing your current system. You first need to determine the cost factor associated with installation, type of the unit and power capabilities.

You also must choose the appropriate location for your new equipment. After pricing out the project, you then have to decide whether or not you are going to install and or build the equipment yourself or Have a trained professional take on the task for you. You have to decide if the solar power equipment will be installed on the roof or positioned on the ground.

One of the easiest ways to choose the right system for your needs is to call a couple of installers in your area. When they come out to the property they will be able to determine what size you will need and what will be the best location as well. Most companies should have a few options for you to choose from ranging in different prices and models. You can take it a step further and look at those models online or most directories and get price quotes there as well.

Once you have the actual quotes you can inquire your contractor what he would price would be to install the unit if you bought everything before hand and let him install it all. Find out if his place of business stocks more then one manufacturers model. You can also get his professional opinion on which model he thinks is the best and which one provides the best value for the price.

Keep in mind in most cases your contractor should receive some sort of discount for either buying More then one unit or simply just for being licensed. He should be able to offer the best advise in which unit to go with. And he should also be OK with you getting a few other estimates to help you decide which model best suits your needs.

It’s not unusual to get a a few contractors give you bids. This will help you evaluate if the experts know what they are speaking of when it comes to what is needed to complete the job and in a timely manner. It is vary rare that the material list and the estimated time frame to complete the project are exactly the same. You should pay close attention to similarities in each bid to help you decide. If there is a big difference between bids have the contractors explain why his list of materials is more or less then the others without showing him the other bids.

Take your time in choosing and don’t let anyone pressure you into putting your signature on something . A real expert will certainly inspire one to take your time He should also be willing to talk about any concerns you may have as well. Once you look at everything you can then you can make the best choice based on all the information you have gathered.

Since 1970, the top retailer for solar power toys offers a wide variety of resources to aspiring scientists. Learn about alternative energy solutions, among other scientific knowledge, with these high-quality alternative energy science supply labs.
